Celebrating the SME100 Fast Moving Companies Award 2021, we reflect on how we have emerged stronger and more resilient through the pandemic which challenged us to innovate new ways of riding the waves of economic uncertainty
Through the difficult pandemic period, Sequoia team morale stayed high and employees stepped up to offer solutions to navigate the crisis. Employees even initiated an internal strategic planning and visioning retreat to envision a repurposed vision of Sequoia, to be a “Beacon of Living O.D in the world.”
Following that, shared ownership of the business increased alongside employee motivation and productivity. Employees expended discretionary effort in their jobs by sourcing for new business adjacencies and took the lead on key initiatives, creating new streams of client work. In turn, Sequoia leveraged on the expertise of our employees and outsourced less, resulting in a significant decrease in cost of sales to revenue ratio over FY2019-FY2020.
This was a testament to the steadfast leadership of Sequoia, that while a difficult crisis was ongoing, the impact on individual employees was mitigated to the least. It was inspiring watching shared ownership of the business increase — employees took the lead on key initiatives and sourcing for new business and adjacencies
True to Sequoia’s aspiration to transform workplaces and communities into flourishing ecosystems, Sequoia was able to achieve better organisational performance by keeping profitability growth on a steady, upward trajectory. Additionally, Sequoia achieved an astounding turnover rate of 0% in the past year.
We thank our clients who stood by us, in particular those who trust us and continue to stay with us as we adapt to a new way of delivering our consultancy, coaching, facilitation and training service.
